Applying for Reinstatement of Your PLP Designation

PLP Reinstatement

An individual with a withdrawn Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation may apply for reinstatement within three years following the date of withdrawal of the designation by:

  1. Successfully completing the PLP Reinstatement process.
  2. Joining or maintaining membership with the National Payroll Institute and paying applicable annual membership fees.
  3. Agreeing to comply with the ongoing designation requirements.

Steps to apply for reinstatement:

  1. Register to complete the PLP Reinstatement Case Study and access the preparation materials, including the case study method and online books. The registration fee is $250 plus applicable taxes and is non-refundable.
  2. Complete the PLP Reinstatement successfully.
    • A maximum of two attempts is permitted to successfully pass the Case Study. If unsuccessful with the first attempt, one additional attempt is permitted.
    • You have three (3) months from your registration date to successfully complete the PLP Reinstatement Case Study. If you do not meet this deadline, your access to the PLP Reinstatement will be removed.
    • Once you complete the PLP Reinstatement Case Study, your results will be emailed to you within two weeks.
  3. Join, or maintain your membership with, the National Payroll Institute and pay the applicable annual membership dues:

Note: If you do not pass the Case Study, you must complete thecurrent designation requirements for the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP)and Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) programs.

Important: The PLP Reinstatement is a remote proctored online evaluation process,and you have two (2) hours and fifteen (15) minutes to complete it in one sitting.You will need to enable your computer camera, as photo validation and a photo ID are required tostart the exam. The evaluation should be taken alone or in a room with closed doors.
