Because how an employment relationship ends matters just as much as how it began.
Navigating the complexities of employee terminations requires both technical accuracy and empathy. Whether voluntary or involuntary, each termination comes with unique legislative requirements, emotional considerations and cross-departmental collaboration that must be managed with care.
If you’re looking to move beyond checklists into meaningful compliant practice, this interactive in-person workshop – offered in 10 cities across Canada – will provide you with the knowledge and skill to support employees through one of the most sensitive transitions in the employee lifecycle.
Gain Hands-On Experience and Enhanced Learning
Each hands-on workshop, available exclusively live and in person, is led by a National Payroll Institute subject matter expert who will guide you through the legislative framework and practical realities of managing terminations.
Through large-group discussions, small-group activities and a thought-provoking case study, you will explore real-world scenarios and learn how other professionals put that knowledge into practice to manage termination payments. The day will conclude with a dedicated networking reception to help you connect with peers in your local payroll community. You’ll also have the chance to engage with a representative from the Institute’s Government and Legislative Affairs team.
Please note: Active participation will help you get the most out of this workshop. Come ready to share, reflect, and engage. This is not a lecture; it’s a collaborative learning experience.
We will share some online tools and resources during the workshop. It is recommended that participants bring their laptops in order to fully engage with the content.
