Why do seemingly trustworthy employees commit payroll fraud — and why are organizations still vulnerable despite evolving controls?
Personal pressures such as financial stress or addiction continue to influence ethical decision-making, but today’s remote and hybrid work environments introduced new behavioral and organizational risk factors. This engaging webinar, led by a seasoned forensic accountant and grounded in real-world case studies, examines both traditional payroll fraud schemes and emerging threats impacting payroll functions — including social engineering, business email compromise and deepfake-enabled deception.
Attendees will gain practical insight into identifying red flags, understanding how schemes are executed and uncovered and how to implement effective prevention and detection measures to strengthen payroll system integrity.
Participants can email questions ahead of time to infoline@payroll.ca.
