PCP Course Work Requirements
PCP Course Work
To ensure PCP designation holders have the information and knowledge needed to flourish, completing three core courses is required:
- Payroll Compliance Legislation: Get introduced to all legislation influencing payroll compliance. Online courses begin the first of every month.
- Payroll Fundamentals 1: Apply legislation to calculate and document individual payments. Online course begin on the twentieth of every month.
- Introduction to Accounting: Transfer your credit from a post-secondary course covering basic accounting practices and principles. Search our list of accepted courses.
- Payroll Fundamentals 2: Learn about third-party remittances, including accounting, technical and year-end requirements. Online courses begin the tenth of every month.
Courses offered online are based on a 13-week schedule (estimated 3 hours per week), for a total of 39 hours, which includes the final exam.
Courses offered through most public post-secondary institutions are based on a 14-week (3 hours per week) timeframe, for a total of 42 hours, which includes the final exam.
Students must achieve a minimum of 65% on both the Final examination and 65% on the Final course mark in order to pass each course and earn a designation.
